Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant (MA), you will work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of a licensed clinical professional in a clinic or practice environment. A Medical Assistant - is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.
Will be working with mothers, infants, and children, who are enrolled in the (WIC) program at Clinica Santa Maria. WIC is a federally-funded nutrition program for pregnant women, breastfeeding moms, infants, and children.
As a specialized Medical Assistant working in this program you will assist with the following:
Scheduling Appointments
Linking women and children to community resources
Providing nutrition support and education
Breast feeding education and support
Program enrolment
Basic Vitals
Point of care testing
Training will be coordinated in partnership with the Kent Country Health Department.

Requirements for working as a Medical Assistants, MA
Graduated of a Medical Assistant Clinical Training Program or Externship program or 2 or more years of current, clinically relevant experience.
Preferred: RMA, AAMA, AMT, or CMA registration or certification
Medical Terminology
Current American Heart Association BCLS / CPR Certification
Completion of High School Diploma or GED
What Medical Assistants, MAs will do:
Room set up and patient preparation
Taking vitals
Drawing blood and giving injections and immunizations.
Performing office tests (Point of Care Testing)
Medicaid Verification
May perform or assisting with in-office procedures / treatments
