Position Summary:

Under the guidance of the Director of Environmental Services, and in accordance with the Trinity Health Strategic Plan , supervises one or more shifts of the day-to-day, 24x7 operations of the Environmental Services Department, including team leaders. Accountable for ensuring total quality cleanliness of all hospital interior spaces (and some exterior) as evidenced by internal quarterly housekeeping audits

What the Supervisor Food and Nutrition Services will need:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of related experience and proven abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Certified Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) within first 6-months; Certified Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) within first year.

  • Prior experience in the health care, hotel, hospitality, manufacturing, construction, or other related field required

What the Supervisor Food and Nutrition Services will do:

Demonstrates a commitment to provide outstanding customer service in a manner reflective of the Mercy Health Mission and Values. Supervises and maintains department according to the departmental and hospital policies and union contact. Oversees on the job training of employees to ensure proper information is given and directs in-services. Manages expenses per department budget. Plans, coordinates and executes special functions. Promotes teamwork by keeping others informed and soliciting new ideas during the decision-making process. Assists employees to understand and be committed to departmental and hospital policies and decisions. BS in Institutional Foods or related degree or equivalent employment experience considered. Two years prior employment in Food Service setting. Prior supervisory experience desired. Demonstrate ability to achieve results in a timely fashion. Demonstrate ability to communicate both orally, in writing and electronically to meet position responsibilities. Basic computer skills required.

Minimum 80 hours per pay period

Primary 5 am to 1:30pm shift with flexible shifts as needed

Every other weekend

Rotating holidays
