Corewell Health RN Supervisor Telephone Triage in Grand Rapids, Michigan

The Clinical Operations and Improvement Team provides education and operational support for the implementation and sustainment of regulatory and clinical care standards. The RN Supervisor Telephone Triage supports and advances triage RNs to promote safe and efficient patient care through operational excellence.

Scope of work

Direct the activities of clinical staff within an assigned area and ensure the delivery of efficient, smooth patient flow and patient satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate the delivery of safe, efficient, and timely patient care. Provide clinical care to patients as needed to support and facilitate smooth function, using the nursing process. Assure that a mechanism is in place to track and follow-up on diagnostic tests and referrals.

  • Function as a customer advocate and provide ongoing communication with customers, staff, and multidisciplinary team regarding customer, staff, management and quality issues.

  • Assume a leadership role and delegate appropriately to support staff to facilitate safe, quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.

  • Conduct performance evaluations of staff, set goals with staff and work with staff to improve performance, as necessary.

  • Facilitate a positive work environment which supports staff and encourages professional growth.

  • Provide input into the budget, monitor monthly expenses and approve invoices as directed.

  • Provide input into the development, implementation and evaluation of unit/department/division/service/goals and prioritize them so that they are consistent with patient care/administration needs.

  • Participate in process improvement activities/research studies, outcomes management in area of accountability.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (BSN) in nursing Required.

  • 2 years of recent, relevant clinical experience Required.

  • MI Registered Nurse license Required.

  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
