Robert Half Network Administrator in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Network Administrator in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role involves maintaining the integrity and high availability of our company's voice, data and wireless network infrastructure. You will be working within a team environment that spans across multiple locations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.

• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.

• Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.

• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.

• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.

• Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.

• Design and implement new solutions and improve the resilience of the current environment.

• Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.

• Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access.

• Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Network Administrator or related role

• Proven skills in working with Cisco Routers and Cisco Technologies

• Knowledge and experience with EO/IR systems

• Proficiency in Firewall Technologies including Fortinet Firewalls

• Familiarity with Microsoft products and Active Directory

• Experience with Backup Technologies is essential

• Ability to handle Computer Hardware and Configuration Management tasks

• Demonstrated skills in network Design

• Experience with VPN Technologies is a must

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
