Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist for the 3rd shift, working directly with the Citizen Swiss Turn Lathe. This position does not require programming, as that is managed by our Process Engineers. The shift offers a $1 premium and runs from 7:30pm to 6am.

• Operate Swiss style (Citizen) CNC lathes to produce the required number of correct parts in a timely manner according to process documentation.

• Operate multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously.

• Correctly setup jobs in assigned equipment in a timely manner.

• Perform 1st piece, in-process, and last piece inspection using micrometers, calipers, comparators, various gauges, and CMM equipment according to process documentation.

• Perform data collection and communication tasks in Job Boss and other applications.

• Perform operator maintenance.

• Diagnose and correct equipment or tool issues.

Essential Skills

• 3 years of CNC Machining on Swiss Lathes.

• Firm understanding of machining center theory, including x, y, and z axis, along with edge and center line pickup.

• Ability to use common measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

This position is located in a job shop machining center for the Aerospace industry. The runs will be anywhere from 20-70 pieces, and the parts are very complex, requiring very close tolerances. You will be working an average of 40-45 hours per week, with the Citizen Swiss Turn Lathe department currently operating 48-50 hours per week, including 4-10 hour shifts and 8-10 hours on Friday.

The pay range for this position is $42000.00 - $52000.00
