Job Title: Distribution Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking candidates with degrees in Engineering (Engineers) or Engineering Technology (Techs) to work as Distribution Engineers and Technicians focused on Duke Energy Distribution projects, specifically the Power Up project. These engineers will receive training from two high level distribution engineers. Project work will include performing engineering calculations such as structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, and coordination of protective devices. Additionally, projects may involve preparing forestry trimming requests, facilitating permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, development of a BOM, estimating costs, and more. All projects will be related to electric power distribution and leadership, specifically make-ready and smart antenna. 90% of the day will be spent on design development and coordination, while 10% will be fieldwork after several months on the job.

Work Environment

This office will be a combination of Designer Engineers and Design Techs supporting distribution projects for DTE. It promotes an open environment, teamwork, and working in groups on projects.
