About Rehab and Nursing Center Cedar

The Rehabilitation & Nursing Center – Cedar was designed with the word “home” in mind. The home is more spacious than the previous 52-year-old Fuller Street facility and boasts many new amenities, including four spacious interior courtyards; a new dining room; on-site dialysis den; art room, private and semiprivate rooms with their own window, restroom and shower; modern furnishings; and new technology , to make these community members feel at home.

Scope of work  

Responsible for cutting and styling hair consistent with resident’s requests. Wash, rinse, and dry resident’s hair using appropriate shampoos , conditioners, and other necessary hair products. Maintains cleanliness in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and ensures work area is clean and equipment is always sterilized. Coordinate and schedule appointments for residents. Communicate with residents to ensure satisfaction of services. Promotes a friendly and positive atmosphere in the delivery of services.

    Qualifications

  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1 year of relevant experience barber or hair stylist experience required

  • 1 year of relevant experience barber in long -term care setting preferred

  • State of Michigan Cosmetologist License Required
