Location: Grand Rapids, MI

This position, which offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements, is based in Grand Rapids and necessitates a presence in the office for 2-3 days each week. An extensive corporate relocation package is also available for eligible candidates.

Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on person to add to our engineering labs team. This person will be involved in Product testing and/or work in our flex lab. The job will be to Test and debug black box and CCA level testing to ensure they meet noted drawing specifications. You will be working with design engineering on testing and debug of Digital and Analog, and Test Equipment circuits at the CCA and/or unit and complete test station level. You will also be needed to solder, build, and repair the above-mentioned items.

This is an Onsite opportunity in Grand Rapids, MI. Relocation assistance is approved for this opportunity.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to solder and do assembly/dis-assembly of test equipment and product and maintain solder certification.

  • Have a strong background in Product test and debug in Analog, Digital, and microprocessor type circuits and at least two of the other four types of technical skills/knowledge listed below.

  • Perform component testing and evaluations on electrical devices where the task definition, approach, analysis, review, and execution must be done within the schedule time frame and budgeted hours.

  • Test equipment build, checkout, setup, and calibration.

  • A working knowledge of windows software and lower-level programming (JTAG programming is a plus).

  • Working knowledge of computers, networks setup, and IT security.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Technician certificate OR a High School Diploma / GED with a 5 plus years of related experience in testing electronics or related military field.

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience working in a hands-on engineering lab.

Desired Characteristics :

  • 4-year Electrical Engineering Degree.

  • Performed Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA).

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Work closely with the cross-functional team to ensure quality products and processes are developed and deployed.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in their work.

  • Hands on experience in materials Science, Chemistry, or Mechanical engineering.

  • Could include cross sectioning, DPA's, fracture and failure analysis, reliability assessment, hazardous material analysis, material composition, part approval / alternate part recommendations, and staying apprised of new material technology, process advancements, and Industry Standards.

  • A working knowledge of windows software and lower-level programming (JTAG programming is a plus).
