Cummins Inc. Diesel Technician- 3rd Shift in Grand Rapids, Michigan

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Grand Rapids, MI and will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs

  • Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls

  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools

  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components

  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

This is a 3rd shift in shop technician role. Third shift is structured as four 10 hour shifts that runs from 9pm to 7am Monday evening through Friday morning. This is a CBA site within the Michigan Main IAM. Previous heavy duty and midrange Cummins engine overhaul experience is preferred.

  • A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire

  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

  • This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

  • A current valid license is required for this role

  • Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience

  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
