Actalent Commercial Construction Electrical Engineer in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Job Title: Electrical EngineerMUST HAVES

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • 1-3+ years of experience designing power distribution/electrical systems in commercial buildings. (open to just internship experience)

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit.

  • Knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring, and systems used in construction.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and technical drawings.

Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with a specialization in commercial construction buildings. The role involves electrical designing of lighting, fire alarms, communication systems, and conducting arc flash analysis for various projects including family entertainment centers, grocery stores, and retail stores.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an electrical engineer for the design, development, and documentation of primary power, secondary power, lighting, fire alarm, and other auxiliary systems on small to medium-sized projects.

  • Research and document any required code review for assigned projects.

  • Perform product research as required for project development.

  • Present electrical system concepts/designs to clients and/or design review committees.

  • Develop and edit project specifications.

  • Review product shop drawings/submittals.

  • Review and respond to requests for information (RFIs).

  • Visit project construction sites to review progress.
