Robert Half Accounting Manager in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Description
We are searching for an Accounting Manager to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing financial reconciliations, preparing financial statements, and supervising a team of five. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements and packages
• Review reconciliations prepared by the team, including prepaids, accruals, and bank recs
• Supervise a team of 5, including Senior and Staff Accountants, and an AP Coordinator
• Contribute to Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A), particularly in relation to acquisitions
• Work on the integration of acquisitions into the company's financials
• Handle the year-end closing process, including audit preparation
• Utilize Great Plains for various accounting tasks
• Work on the reimbursement rates on the healthcare side and reserve for it
• Oversee the preparation of year-end schedules for fixed assets and intangibles
• Ensure good documentation practices are maintained within the department
Requirements
• Preference for someone with a valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
• Requires a minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in the accounting field.
• Prior experience in the healthcare industry is essential.
• Demonstrated expertise in Mergers & Acquisitions (M& A) and Acquisition Integration.
• Proven ability to conduct detailed reviews and balance sheet account reconciliation.
• Experience in supervising a team is mandatory.
• Proficiency in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A) and Financial Statement Preparation.
• Knowledge of Prepaids, Accruals, Year End Closings, and Audit Prep is necessary.
• Proficiency in Great Plains (GPAC) software is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
