    What you’ll do as a Splicer II Fiber

  • Splicing fiber cable for large cable transfers

  • Adtran and Calix testing and turn-up

  • Light labor including lifting manhole covers and barricading open manholes

  • Working with ISP/OSP terminations

  • Working in, from and around hand-holes and manholes

    What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older

  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company

  • 2 or more years of fiber splicing experience

  • Knowledge of hot cuts and solid OTDR testing

  • Ribbon splicing knowledge preferred

  • Experience in how to read and interpret outside and subscriber plant facility records and engineering schematic work prints

    Additional qualifications (if applicable)

  • Working knowledge of direct termination of fiber-optic connectors including mechanical, anaerobic, epoxy polish, heat cured as well as pigtail splicing methods

  • Working knowledge of ISP/OSP fiber optics terminations in splicing products in regards to appropriate application

  • Working knowledge of analog and digital transmission

  • Electronics training or experience that demonstrates knowledge of AC/DC theory

    Physical abilities & exposures

  • Routinely: Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, climb sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping while on shift.

  • Occasionally: Employees performing these job functions may be required to lift or move up to 10 up to 50 pounds.

    Pay Range: The Splicer II Fiber position pays an hourly wage of $25.00 - $32.00 per hour depending upon experience.
