This Provider Relations Advocate role with UnitedHealth Group will call on your knowledge, your energy, and your commitment to making health care work more effectively for more people. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with assigned behavioral healthcare providers through telephone/video calls, prompt resolution of issues, and excellent customer service

  • Conducting training of service providers on policies, procedures, service lines, and available technology

  • Contribute to design and implementation of programs that build / nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers, and practice managers

  • Assist in end-to-end behavioral health provider claims resolution

  • Support development and management of behavioral health provider networks by identifying gaps in network composition and services by assisting network contracting and development teams

  • Initiating and maintaining effective channels of communication with the health plan, providers, and other teams

  • Assist in efforts to enhance ease of use of online provider portal and future services enhancements

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of health care / managed care experience

  • 3+ years of customer services experience

  • Intermediate level of proficiency in claims processing, claim denial analysis and issue resolution

  • Proficiency in creating presentations, training documents, reports, and analytical graphs

  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of customer services experience

  • 4+ years of provider relations and/or provider network experience including claims processing

  • 2+ years of experience with Medicare and Medicaid regulations

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $58,300 to $114,300 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
