Valor Tactical Innovation Inventory Control Specialist II in Grand Junction, Colorado
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize inventory; Reduce excess inventory, control costs, manage storage and warehouse inventories utilizing manufacturing business' best practices
- Accurately issue, receive, inventory, and warehouse all materials and supplies for manufacturing operations
- Coordinate with Department Head to develop and maintain procedures for adequate inventory levels
- Ensure materials needs for production team is actively managed to meet daily demands and production schedule
- Identify solutions to dispose of, or sell obsolete items in the inventory
- Work with other teams including quality, continuous improvement, engineering, shipping, and purchasing
- Notify Quality Control when raw material inspections and acceptance are needed in a timely manner
- Notify Purchasing when defective goods are received or identified in inventory and maintains a designated area for defective goods for disposition
- Train members of the inventory team and ensure safety and quality standards are maintained at all times
- Work with supervisor and other team leads to prioritize assignments to ensure the production schedule is met
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
- Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or record keeping purpose
- Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
- Deliver or route materials to departments using handtruck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
- Communicate with carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
- Ensure incoming shipments are unloaded and received in a timely manner
- Fulfill receiving requirements for incoming materials by conducting physical counts, reconcile packing slips and validating purchase orders, and perform visual inspections of components
- Ensures that inventory counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner
- Regularly conducts "cycle counts" on the entire inventory and provides reports to management and trains employees in cycle counting and inventory cont
- Oversee and coordinate shipment of parts to vendors and products to our customers
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must pass background check and pre-employment drug testing
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
- Past basic experience in 10 key and Microsoft Office Proficiency (Excel/Word)
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Desire and ability to obtain internal forklift certification
- Prior experience in a warehouse/inventory position for a manufacturing facility
- Material handling equipment experience
- Knowledge and basic use of handheld power tools such as a band saw and other cutting equipment
- Audit and inventory experience
Physical Requirements:
- RARE (less than 10%): Crawling, handling chemicals, climbing stairs and ladder, wearing a respirator, lifting over 40 lbs.
- OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): Stretching arms above head, lifting over 15 lbs. to 30 lbs.
