Shape Corporation Robotics Technician - 2nd Shift in Grand Haven, Michigan

Position Summary:  The position involves prioritizing tasks related to welding troubleshooting, robot programming and maintenance, and continuous process improvements, ensuring operational safety and quality standards. Key responsibilities include conducting performing predictive maintenance on weld equipment, troubleshooting automation issues, and fostering good relationships with vendors and team members.

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance for all automation in the facility.
  • Prioritize tasks within the facility relating to weld troubleshooting, set up, robot programming, etc.
  • Provide adjustments to welding fixtures, CNC equipment, Swedge machinery, etc.
  • Perform predictive maintenance on robotic equipment.
  • Ensure equipment adheres to the highest safety standards for reliable operation.
  • Read and interpret CAD data, blueprints, GD&T, CMM reports, and customer weld specifications.
  • Set weld standards/parameters for new products and conduct continuous weld testing to meet or exceed customer specifications.
  • Apply and utilize manufacturing best practices for efficiency, quality, safety, and capability.
  • Foster and maintain good working relationships with vendors, team members, suppliers, and project teams.
  • Make necessary repairs to robotic and manufacturing equipment.
  • Identify and complete various continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Adjust tooling and maintain part tolerances.
  • Perform additional functions as directed by the leader.
