Trinity Health Patient Accounts Specialist in Grand Haven, Michigan

Description:

The Patient Account Specialist reviews bills for accuracy and submits to the appropriate third-party payer or the patient. Bills secondary and tertiary bills when insurance coverage is present. Completes follow-up on unpaid accounts until final resolution.

Job Status:

Full Time

Hybrid remote: Following 90-day minimum on-site initial training, potential for remote work with 1 day onsite weekly.

What you will need:

  • High school graduate with courses in business, computers, bookkeeping and accounting.

  • One year work experience in accounting or computers preferred.

  • Experience with health insurance billing and payment procedures.

  • Good communication skills to contact insurance carriers, initiate correspondence and understand medical and insurance terms.

  • Typing ability of 60 words per minute.

What you will do:

  • Bill appropriate third party payer and/or patient.

  • Participate, communicate, interact and assistant patients, the public, and colleagues.

  • Run daily “Auto-Gen” reports

  • Review, analyze and re-bill open accounts.

  • Correct Electronic Billing System edit reports.
