Carter Manufacturing Inventory Controller in Grand Haven, Michigan

Job Summary This position reports directly to the Plant Supervisor. Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels to support the smooth operation of the business. Responsibilities include maintaining efficient inventory levels, including receiving, storage, and issuance of material. Ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing discrepancies are critical in this role. Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records, including stock levels, item descriptions, and locations. • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records. • Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPI's) to keep track of inventory levels. • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, stock discrepancies, and potential issues. • Coordinate with various departments to fulfill internal and external orders promptly. • Ensure timely and accurate picking of materials. • Utilize inventory management software to update and maintain accurate records. • Maintain and review current inventory control procedures within the system and help to brainstorm new ideas. • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on inventory analysis. • Work closely with other departments, purchasing and scheduling to optimize inventory processes. • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies. • Maintains clean work area. • Trains new and existing employees as necessary. • Other tasks as assigned.
