McLaren Health Care Benefits Data Analyst - McLaren Careers in Grand Blanc, Michigan

Under the general direction of the benefits leadership, the analyst administers, facilitates, problem solves, researches and communicates information related to the benefits program.

The analyst also performs professional and analytical work of moderate

difficulty and is proficient in communicating information that can be moderately complex.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities As Assigned:

1.

Manages development, coordination and evaluation of benefits transaction automation.

Develops, tests, implements and monitors activities to enhance automation of data collection, transmission and reporting

2.

Reviews, audits, tests and ensures ongoing integrity and credibility of benefits data maintained in HRIS, and other systems, as necessary.

Makes recommendations to help ensure consistency of benefits data.

3.

Prepares and produces benefits and costing reports needed by others including Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, Budgeting, governmental agencies, and vendors.

4.

Prepares and audits monthly billing for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and EAP plans for all groups serviced by the benefits team in the Corporate HR Services Department.

5.

Conducts research and compiles statistics regarding benefits, including but not limited to enrollment, costs, utilization, internal and external trends.

6.

Identifies problems in benefits policies and practices and makes recommendations to correct problems and prepare for anticipated issues.

7.

Assists in open enrollment activities and processing. This includes, but is not limited to assisting with the planning, promotion, execution, monitoring and adjusting of the open enrollment process as well as collection, verification, correction, and transmission of enrollment data.

Responsible for creating annual rate sheets and rates upload for HRIS system.

8.

Completes and submits third party benefits surveys on behalf of the organization.

Qualifications:

Required Education:

  • Associates degree in human resources, business, economics, social sciences or a related area and 4 years of experience

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, economics, social sciences or a related area.

Required Experience:

  • Two years’ experience in benefits administration in the HR field and general working knowledge of human resources functions

Preferred

:

  • Experience working in a health care setting in HR or Payroll functions

  • SQL experience and/or experience with analytics software.
