Description
MPS, a division of Macmillan Publishers, a leading US publisher of Trade and Academic titles, has a job opening for an ERP Implementation Project Manager (Contractor) in our Gordonsville facility. MPS provides back office support, warehousing, and, fulfilment for Macmillan US, and is their primary distribution facility for North America.
The ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Implementation Project Manager (Contractor) is responsible for leading and managing the entire process of deploying and integrating ERP software systems within an organization. This role requires a combination of project management skills, technical understanding of ERP systems, and the ability to work closely with different departments within the organization to ensure the ERP system meets business needs.
The person in this role will work closely with the Program Director to execute the overall strategy and plans. They will be the primary contact for the System Integrator's Project Manager and serve as a point of escalation within the program leadership structure.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management:
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress in conjunction with System Integration Project Management team.
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate project governance.
Resource Allocation:
Determine and identify necessary resources, including team members, and technology, to ensure successful project execution.
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors.
Implementation and Execution:
Lead the implementation of the ERP system, ensuring it meets all project requirements and business needs.
Oversee all aspects of the project, including technical, business, and operational functionalities.
Facilitate the management of project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Stakeholder Management:
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including project team members, management, vendors, and other relevant parties.
Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
Risk Management:
Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
Identify and manage potential crises, devising contingency plans as needed.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure the project's deliverables meet the required quality standards.
Oversee all phases of testing to ensure the final product satisfies the business requirements.
Training and Development:
Support comprehensive training programs for the end-users to ensure smooth adoption of the new system.
Support and mentor project team members.
Communication and Reporting:
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
Weekly status report creation
Presentations for large team meetings
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven working experience in project management, specifically with ERP implementations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a team.
Microsoft Dynamics D365 Finance and Supply Chain experience a plus.
This position is available fully remotely but will require heavy travel. This candidate would be onboarded through Headway.
