BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Engineering Manager is responsible for daily supervision of the Engineering Department, and performing Engineering duties

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise daily duties of the Engineering Department, minus Systems Engineer

  • Perform standard Engineer job duties

  • Develop and supervise the following:

  • tool quoting processes, including customer relations

  • new cutting tool designs from customer inputs

  • best shop routing methods

  • print definitions & interpretations

  • tool print records & filing process o tool programming & processes

  • Train others as needed

  • Interact with customers, the quality department, & sales staff to help resolve issues

  • Conducts engineer reviews.

  • Interacts on a daily basis with the Tooling Engineering staff, Production Manager, and other associates as needed

  • Reports & communicates to the Director of Engineering and upper management team

  • New Associate training: On-site and off-site job training with other associates, upper management, or designated training programs.

  • Ability to perform the following:

  • several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism

  • develop & interpret blueprints

  • inspect & detect tool defects

  • read & help develop work instructions

  • handle and mitigate conflict with customers and other associates.

  • Ability to write reports, emails and other written communication with correct grammar and clear information.

  • Ability to communicate orally using correct grammar to communicate information clearly.

  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of

  • MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

    QUALIFICATIONS

    What You Need:

  • Associate Degree in Engineering required.

  • Minimum of three to five years work experience in an engineering / tool manufacturing environment

  • Cutting tool design training or experience

  • JobBOSS2 ERP training or experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

    Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Solidworks experience preferred.

  • AutoCAD experience preferred.

  • ANCA Toolroom software experience preferred.

  • Ideally 7 bullet points or less. Qualifications that can be up for interpretation. EX: strong customer service skills

    Other Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license may be required.

  • Position may require up to 10% of travel
