About the Role

Looking for several Embedded Firmware Engineers to work on infrared cameras for the automotive industry. Summer, Fall and Winter positions available (i.e. through December 2024). The successful candidate will be working with our senior members to develop, evaluate, and verify system and device-level requirement, architecture, and interface specifications; device-level firmware architecture, design, and implementation. The candidate may participate in any part of the Firmware and Software Development Lifecycle.

Your Responsibilities

  • System level tests for world leading automotive thermal cameras.

  • Specification and requirement trace from tests to source documents.

  • Participating in system verification/validation.

  • Participate in code reviews and task tracking.

  • Opportunities to contribute to embedded system firmware development.

Who we are looking for

  • High School Diploma

  • Currently Attending a college or University

  • Pursuing a degree in Embedded Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.

  • Must demonstrate ability to follow a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines, and control multiple tasks at various stages of work.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across the organization.

  • Must be an effective listener, able to extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.

  • Must be able to handle task and/or project changes in response to business priority adjustments.

  • Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Event-driven Programming

  • C Programming Language (in embedded environments a plus)

  • RTOS familiarity a plus

  • Contributions to open-source projects a plus

  • Currently working towards a degree Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field

  • Experience in C/C++ Experience with embedded development and low-level coding

  • FSAE, Hyperloop or Solar Racing experience is a plus

  • Experience with RTOS, firmware architecture, device drivers or programming hardware components is a plus

  • FPGA experience with Xilinx, Altera, AMD, Intel, or Lattice FPGAs is a plus

  • VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog experience is a plus

  • Previous test experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) or Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) is a plus.

Site Benefits

Salary Range:

Freshman – $17.00/hr.

Sophomore – $20.00/hr.

Junior – $22.00/hr.

Senior – $24.00/hr.

Masters – $26.00/hr.

PHD – $38.00/hr.
