Honeywell’s ACST team is seeking a Research Engineer II for our Golden Valley, MN location.

  • Citizenship Required: United States Citizenship

  • Clearance Required: Yes; you must either currently have or be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance

  • Telecommute: No - Teleworking not available for this position

  • Travel Required: Some travel required – 10%

The annual base salary or/ hourly pay range for this position is ($92,000.00 - $115,000.00). Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Implementing sample environments in support of laboratory experimentation

  • Designing and developing new cryogenic systems

  • Performing low temperature laboratory experiments

  • Supporting the design and development of integrated solutions with cryogenics being a key component

  • Partnering with the Principal Investigator, Program Manager, and Project Engineers for project execution

  • Collaborate with scientists and technicians to design experiments, develop and execute test plans.

  • Coordinate closely with fabrication services to build out modifications needed to run experiments.

  • Run tests, catalog and analyze results, create and communicate test reports.

  • Complete test documentation, develop data handling and storage procedures, seek and execute continuous improvements.

  • Establish and support metrology, calibration, test quality, MSAs for all existing tests and equipment.

  • Develop documentation, capability assessment, modification tracking, logbook ownership, and maintenance for existing equipment.

US CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with research, equipment design and experimentation

  • U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain a security clearance

WE VALUE:

We value candidates who may have one or more of the following skills:

  • Understanding of cryogenic equipment, processes and techniques

  • Strong knowledge of cryogenic systems and components

  • Experience creating and executing test plans and experiments

  • Collecting data, analyzing/ understanding, drawing conclusions and charting next steps

  • Experience developing rapid prototypes of test fixtures and tooling

  • 5 years experience as a research engineer in a laboratory environment

  • Mechanical, material science degree
