Job Description OVERVIEW This Research & Development (R&D) Packaging Engineer II position is within the North America Foodservice (NAF) platform, which is a key strategic growth area for General Mills. This role will directly support the Pizza business (dough ball and crusts) by leading packaging development and execution for Innovation, Renovation, and cost savings in Custom and Street. In this position, you will be responsible for managing fast-paced project deadlines and advancing packaging solutions to meet customer and business needs with unique challenges in Back of House (BOH) spaces. You will have the opportunity to build empathy and work with customers (Pizza Hut, Hunt Bros, Papa John's, and Little Ceasars for example), build strong relationships with our Sales Team, and execute projects across manufacturing locations and technologies while collaborating closely with Innovation, Technology & Quality (ITQ) peers and business partners to fuel our growth. As a part of the NAF Packaging group, you will also be joining the team of R&D Packaging developers that support the Meals and Baking Solutions businesses, creating opportunities for collaboration, engagement, and community-building as part of a broader group. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Develop and execute Innovation, Renovation, and cost savings projects in NAF in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders such as Marketing, Sales, Product R&D, Operations, Logistics, Sourcing, and Finance throughout the development cycle Manage and prioritize multiple projects with speed and agility to align resources with business needs Advance packaging strategy through possibilities thinking and influence adoption within business team Design all packaging with knowledge of product/packaging interactions; machine material interactions; and designing for distribution, channel, and customer requirements Lead new packaging start-ups across our manufacturing locations (internally and externally) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Packaging, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related field Ability to manage multiple projects independently Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization Strong acumen in business processes - e.g. gPLM Travel (10-20%) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years Packaging development experience Demonstrated leadership and initiative with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across functions and levels Possibilities thinker who challenges the norm and is willing to try new approaches ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. General Mills will not sponsor applicants for a U.S. work visa. Salary Range The salary range for this position is $68700.00 - $103200.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their ex eriences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
