Overview:

Xentity Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team to support a cloud-based conservation analytics platform. Key responsibilities include support and modernization of applications, services, databases, and infrastructure which provides soil survey and ecological site information for all areas of the US and island territories.

Key Responsibilities:

12+ years of IT experience with a strong focus on data engineering concepts including: SQL and relational databases in both transactional and data warehouse architectures Working with scientific data products and metadata Working in agile frameworks in an enterprise context Working in a Microsoft-based enterprise environment MS SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Visual Studio, C# .NET and ASP.NET, IIS web server and Remote Desktop Git or Bitbucket proficiency

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, environmental science, or related field. Understanding of spatial data concepts, including projections, coordinate systems, and data formats. Experience with Python programming for data analysis and automation. Familiarity with Safe Software a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while interfacing with clients.

Preferred: Laboratory Management System (LIMS) PostgreSQL Geospatial, GIS, PostGIS SAFe training or certification Jenkins CI/CD Docker and container orchestration Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Job Goal: First 30 days: Familiarize with the company's data infrastructure and ongoing projects, and engage in team meetings and training sessions. First 60 days: Start contributing to ongoing projects under supervision and begin independently handling small-scale tasks. First 90 days: Take ownership of assigned projects and deliverables and provide assistance and guidance to junior team members. First Year: Lead projects independently and continuously improve data engineering workflows and methodologies.
