Logical Systems, Inc. Senior Control Systems Engineer - Golden in Golden, Colorado
Senior Control Systems Engineers assess user requirements and the design of process and/or mechanical equipment to create automation systems that manage the process or machinery effectively.
The engineers apply their expertise in instrumentation, control valves, motors/VFDs, electrical design of control systems, and PLC/DCS programming to develop an automation system that satisfies user needs with a fundamental design approach.

Reports to: Operations Director
Job responsibilities and qualifications may include, but are not limited to: - Interfacing with customers to develop User Requirements documentation. - Leading project teams to execute the controls hardware and/or software scope. - Developing control specification (control narratives) documentation based on User Requirements. - Performing initial feasibility studies for proposed projects, resulting in a feasibility-level cost estimate and supporting documentation for the project. - Marking up Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for instrumentation and controls related changes and reviewing drawings from the drafting team. - Designing low-voltage (up to 480V) electrical controls drawings, panel drawings, loop sheets, I/O drawings, and network drawings, and reviewing drawings from the drafting team. - Developing programs for Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and/or overseeing the program development done by others. - Developing Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and configuring SCADA systems. - Configuring historians. - Developing testing plans for DCS and PLC programs to effectively test all aspects of a new program or program changes. - Simulating the DCS/PLC program and testing the system using the testing plan. - Overseeing electrical controls construction at the client's site and verifying that the system is being installed as designed, providing technical support to the construction effort. - Performing I/O checkout on the installed control system and documenting the checkout results. - Providing post-commissioning support to the client's operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel. - Traveling to the client's site as required.
Required Experience/Qualifications: - A degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field), Computer Science, or a similar scientific/technical discipline.
Ideal Experience: - Minimum of five years of comprehensive experience with PLCs. - Experience in configuring HMI/SCADA systems. - Proficiency in Historian or data analytics.

Job Title: Senior Control Systems Engineer
Annual Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 (eligible for incentive pay) The salary will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, in addition to internal equity and market data alignment.
