TDA Research Electrical Engineer II in Golden, Colorado

TDA Research, Inc., is located outside Denver, Colorado, with research offices in Golden. The company has a staff of over 100, mainly engineers and scientists who develop cutting-edge chemical processes, materials, and hardware for customers in the defense, aerospace, energy, and chemical industries. TDA Research, Inc., is searching for a highly qualified Electrical Engineer II who is passionate about developing advanced technologies and translating them into real-world applications. The ideal candidate will have a minimum bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science. The Electrical Engineer II will work under a Principal Investigator/Senior Engineer to build on current efforts and bring new research ideas to the group. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems

  • Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs and applying knowledge of electricity and materials

  • Confirm systems and components capabilities by designing testing methods

  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies (related costs paid by TDA)

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science with relevant experience in hardware development

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience

  • Strong software skills

  • Embedded systems design and PCB fabrication

  • Programming (C, C++, MATLAB, Python, etc.)

  • Experience with sensors, electromechanical systems, power management, or prototyping

  • Passion for generating new technology

  • A willingness and interest in expanding into new skill sets and research fields

  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Electronic or embedded sensing development experience

  • Automation control logic for electro-mechanical systems

  • Experience or skills in applying AI technology to embedded systems

  • Experience or skills utilizing flight control logic for UAS/UAVs

The annual salary range is $85,000-$100,000, plus the complete benefits package.

Per the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skill set, and/or location.
