Part time Program Director needed with the Senior Citizen Center of Gloversville and Fulton County, Inc.

This is a part time position with hours of 9 am - 1 pm Monday through Friday. Hours may vary as required but will typically be no more than 20 hours per week.

Must be computer literate and familiar with MS Office, email and able to search programs.

Responsible for planning, implementing, supervising and monitoring programs to engage seniors in social interaction and informational opportunities. Programs must first be presented to the Board President for pre-approval and then must receive Board approval. Once approved, programs will be advertised with flyers and possibly notices on Facebook and the local newspaper depending on the event. Any expenses for the program will be discussed with the Board President and Treasurer. Files will be maintained for each program to include contacts made to implement the program and an attendance list and any other paperwork connected with the program.

Responsible for planning, implementing, supervising and monitoring Fundraising activities to produce income for the Center. These activities must be presented to the Board President for pre-approval and then receive Board approval. Files must be maintained for each fundraiser to include contacts, costs, and income. Fundraising activities will be advertised with flyers, on Facebook, and/or newspaper notice or other means to solicit sales of items/tickets.

Optional task to search for an apply for grants to secure funding for products, services and other support for the Center and the seniors we serve. Any grant funding possibilities must be discussed with the Grants Standing Committee and then receive Board approval to apply for the grant. Files must be maintained for each grant considered and/or applied for. Submission of any grant reporting details must be performed in a timely fashion to the Board and to the Grantor when the grant is completed.

Must interact promptly with Board President, Vice President, Treasurer, or Secretary regarding any issues that arise. Must privately discuss any issues regarding pertinent operations with other employees or Board members.

Program Director must attend monthly Board meetings to provide current information n programs, activities, and fundraisers.

This positions is probationary for 6 months at which time a review will be held. Wage: $20.00/hr.- negotiable based on experience
