Summary About the Position: This position is with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, Engineering & Construction Div., Construction Branch, Southern NJ Resident Engineer Office located in Gloucester City, NJ. The incumbent will provide administrative support services, functions, and assistance in order to support an office. This is a reannouncement of announcement number CERD249113284532D. Responsibilities Serve as the major point-of-contact (POC) for South Jersey Resident Engineer Office (SJ REO) Resident Engineer and subordinate project offices with responsibility for the coordination and resolution of clerical and administrative support activities. Transmit orders, data, and information as directed by supervisor. Prepare and coordinate documentation pertinent to clerical/ administrative matters such as personnel actions, procurements, property records, timekeeping, safety, or other reports and general correspondence. Prepare travel orders, requisition forms, as needed, in accordance with supply/procurement and travel needs of SJ REO personnel. As Secretary, perform a variety of typing, office automation/word processing duties in support of the Branch. Purchase a variety of standard retail items by credit card. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Selective Placement Factor: Must have skill of a qualified typist (Type 40 Words per Minute). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: experience with office procedures, clerical and administrative practices such as receiving calls and visitors, maintaining files, ordering supplies and using an automated financial system for duties such as preparing timekeeping or travel orders and experience using office automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Applies Technology to Tasks Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Organizational Awareness Writing Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
