Job Title: Case Worker (Part-time)

Rate of Pay: $22/hr

Benefits: Standard; Part-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:
Sick leave benefit – 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire; sick time accrual is pro-rated for part-time hours.)
Vacation benefit – 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment; vacation accrual is pro-rated for part time hours.)
Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service) with at least 21 hours worked per week.
Function: To provide direct services to clients on behalf of The Salvation Army (TSA) and to assist with the daily office and client assistance operations. As an employee of The Salvation Army, a California corporation, the GWS SE Caseworker reports to and is under the supervision of the GWS SE Center Coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Interview applicants and provide emergency financial assistance and case management within the emergency assistance guidelines of TSA Divisional Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) and SE Department. Maintain client files. Assure client confidentiality.
Update, organize, and maintain client information in applicable software, forms, and case records accurately and in a timely manner, while maintaining confidentiality according to Salvation Army and applicational HIPAA standards.
Provide clerical support and serve visitors, in-person and on the telephone, including greeting and carrying out client services from start to finish.
Accumulate data and provide complete and required reports, as well as other record keeping, in compliance with, or at the request of, Divisional Headquarters and the GWS SE Center
Answer phones. Work with clients in a one-on-one situation.
Coordinate and cooperate with local partners in government, as well as non-profits, to assess client needs for safety and stability. Provide referrals for applicants with specialized needs.
Exhibit a practical knowledge of the program and its applicability to the needs of the community.
Provide support in maintaining a safe, healthy workplace in accordance with new public health standards.
Represent TSA in various community organizations and social service organizations within the community. Demonstrate professional wisdom by setting healthy limits to avoid overextending self towards people in need.
Perform other duties as assigned and approved by the GWS SE Center Coordinator, the Divisional EDS/SE Director, and Divisional Leadership.
Qualification and Education Requirements:
Must have a good working knowledge of The Salvation Army Family Services and all social services in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
High School diploma/GED equivalent and at least two years case work experience.
Microsoft Word and Outlook proficiency required. Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Continued employment will be contingent on a biennial (every 2 years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.
Must be minimally 21 years of age and possessing a valid in-state Driver's License.
