Maintenance Supervisor. This job is full-time permanent.
Description
We are looking for someone eager to join our team to manage all aspects of maintenance including day-to-day and long-term maintenance projects at our Sawmill in Glenwood, AR. Reporting to the Mill Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of mill equipment. The ideal candidate will have a personal dedication to safety, including proactive support of efforts to create a culture of safety excellence.
Requirements
- Supervise, coordinate, plan day-to-day and long-term maintenance of the mill to ensure quality work and minimal downtime in a safe and efficient manner.
- Plan daily maintenance including filling out work orders and distributing them to the appropriate personnel.
- Collect information from various sources to ensure parts & materials are on site.
- Review downtime to determine causes and prevention.
- Plan and coordinate service calls from various vendors, contractors and OEM\'s.
- Plan and coordinate long-term tasks (weekly, monthly, and annually).
- Schedule and plan overtime and time-off for maintenance personnel.
- Perform safety inspections and hold safety meetings with maintenance personnel.
- Train millwrights and new maintenance employees.
- Complies with environmental regulations when using, dispensing or handling hazardous or non-hazardous materials and wastes.
- Regular attendance is required between the assigned start and end times for work. Exhibits regular and punctual attendance habit to comply with existing attendance requirements.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Work Environment
Works in a lumber mill environment. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as designated by the company including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear in appropriate areas and must follow safety practices.
Education, Experience and Knowledge Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5 years experience in maintenance field.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a maintenance setting in a mill manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Have excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Have excellent problem-solving skills.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required
- Knowledge of high production mills.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in the electrical, mechanical and hydraulic area.
- Strong mechanical and welding knowledge.
