WESCO Technician - Lab Technology Services in Glenview, Illinois

As a Technician, - Lab Technology Services, you will work to achieve technical excellence in the products and services Wesco provides by providing technical support on quality assurance testing, product research, and laboratory administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts laboratory and field-testing of communications and security products while documenting test results accurately.

  • Provides hands-on support in building laboratory test fixtures, customer/vendor mock-ups, and tradeshow booth displays.

  • Ensures proper asset/test sample inventory tracking, lab cleanliness, and lab equipment calibration.

  • Assist in coordinating visits to the lab, both for external and internal customers

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree - Engineering, Technical, or other related field required

  • 2 - 4 years of technical product quality testing or installation

  • Technical background and strong interest in product testing

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Must possess visual acuity and manual dexterity required for occasional hand soldering of electronics

  • Works independently with minimal supervision

  • Experience with structured copper and optical wiring systems, IP networking, IP-based video technologies, access control, wireless systems, and AV systems preferred

  • Solid working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, Visio, and AutoCAD is preferred

  • Ability to travel up to 25%
