Executive Producer - Creative Development

The Executive Producer – Creative Development will provide leadership for a functional team of Creative Producers. They will act as a guide, nurturing the progress, performance, and deliverables of a team tasked with producing all aspects of our attractions and experiences from concept to opening, while ensuring the creative vision is realized.

The Executive Producer – Creative Development will report to the Executive Creative Producer. This is a Full-Time role.

Responsibilities

  • Functional leadership of CA-based Senior and below level Producers, ensuring consistent leadership and support throughout all phases of project delivery.

  • Develops short & long-range plans for WDI’s Creative talent needs, as well as resource planning against project/business needs

  • Proactively matches talent to a wide range of creative assignments and projects; talent casting and development in support of all Creative Deliverables across the life cycle of the project, including outside specialists

  • Identifies & recruits talent for the Producer discipline

  • Identifies, develops & maintains a network of strategic alliances with non-captive talent; ensure access to best talent available in the external community

  • Develops and oversees a continuous process of talent development, including specific career planning for all personnel, development of enrichment and mastery programs, & performance evaluation.

  • Serves as a spokesperson for the creative process and needs of creative talent within the larger context of WDI’s internal systems, WDI’s clients and partners

  • Establishes practices which balance needs for team continuity and opportunity for individual growth and exploration

  • Provides direct feedback to creative talent; mentors on creative ability and leadership/career development

  • Partner with Portfolio Executives to guide project teams through the initial project phases, ensuring that creative vision, strategic objectives, and stakeholder alignment are maintained throughout these critical early stages.

  • Take an active role at the onset of projects to establish a strong foundation, ensuring smooth transitions and handoffs to the appropriate teams as projects advance.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Superior production skills. Proven ability to bring high-profile highly complex projects to opening, maintaining vision and financial oversight

  • Excellent ability to lead complex and large-scale show production efforts and personnel, driving innovation, providing clear direction, resolving conflicts and aligning multiple stakeholders

  • Proven ability to affect both strong team and consensus building results by developing solid relationships with multiple partners at multiple levels

  • Superior presentation and communication skills.

  • Minimum of 7 years of Disney experience and 5 years related experience in project leadership

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience managing people

  • Previous film and/or theater production experience.

  • Willingness to travel both domestic and international as required.

Required Education

  • BA/BS in theater, film, design or entertainment preferred.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $163,500 to $219,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
