Glenair Business Development Manager, Integrated Board Assemblies in Glendale, California

**1.0 Job Description Summary: Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships. Duties include, but not limited to, work to improve the organizations market position. This person builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions. It is their job to work with the internal team, marketing staff, and other managers to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize growth for the organization. They call on customers, often being required to make presentations on solutions and services that meet or predict their customers future needs. They are also required to grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to customers. This requires a thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide, and of the companys competitors. Attend tradeshows in order to further understand our competitors and customer base.

  1. Responsibilities:

New Business Development

  • Expand customer base within existing accounts by technically discussing Integrated Flex/Rigid Flex/Rigid Assembly as well as other Glenair products in order to increase business. Identify potential customers, and the decision makers within the organization.
  • Research and build relationships with new customers.
  • Work with Glenair team to develop proposals that speaks to the customers needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with management.

Customer Retention

  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships with field sales.
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Arrange and participate with field sales in internal and external client debriefs.
  • Travel and further educate our sales base as needed.
  • Collaborate efforts with sales base when identifying new program and products that support the customer.

Business Development Planning

  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and tradeshows, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the companys unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Expectations

Significant travel with the team to customers.
