Job Summary

The Maintenance and Reliability Manager is responsible for overall leadership and excellence in maintenance of the facility, including preventive maintenance planning, project management, coordination of all facilities maintenance/repair, designing and implementing capital projects, and construction projects. This includes developing strategies and objectives for maximizing productivity and leveraging expenses; managing and overseeing the maintenance of equipment and facility; analyzing trends and solving problems to maximize contribution to the facilitys success; and managing a team of direct reports to achieve these results. The Maintenance and Reliability Manager is also responsible for solution mining process, which includes evaporation pond, salt harvesting, and well operation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the teams success of meeting company goals, quality standards, and service times while maintaining work efficiencies and labor usage, working independently with minimal direction from the General Manager.
  • Leads a team of employees in all aspects, including hiring, onboarding/training, development, engagement, and retention.
  • Creates and implements strategic directions for reliability and maintenance.
  • Collaborate to improve plant performance by designing and implementing engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to industrial machinery and equipment design. Implement control procedures to achieve project objectives. This includes leading all aspects of project implementation, from planning and scheduling to execution and closeout, while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Implement best practices for continuous improvement driving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); recommends and implements procedures to optimize operating efficiencies.
  • Champions a culture of safety; ensures the compliance of safety requirements.
  • Assists with the creation of the maintenance annual budget (distributed maintenance, supplies maintenance, and outside contractors - maintenance) and manages maintenance costs.
  • Collaborates with other stakeholders to ensure that all equipment is compliant and operates within environmental permit limits.
  • Responsible for operations and maintenance of evaporation ponds, pumps, water wells, brine wells, and harvesting equipment.
