Position Overview:
The Quality Control Gauge Technician position is responsible for testing the density of asphalt while following safety and operational guidelines. This is a full-time position that requires overtime through peak season, reports to the area superintendent, and has no supervisory responsibility.

General Duties and Functions:
Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects
Be aware of and familiar with the Company Handbook
Maintain cleanliness of gauge, test, and document densities of asphalt during production
Assist in rolling patterns to maximize density
Actively participate in any recommended or mandatory training
Additional duties as assigned by management, as this job description is non-exhaustive
Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours)
Essential Duties and Functions:
Troubleshoot, identify, correct, and prevent quality control issues
The ability to work independently
Perform field testing of asphalt with a non-nuclear density gauge
Maintain Quality Control recordkeeping
Maintain Quality Control equipment
Maintain safe practices at all times and report injuries to management as necessary
Understand rolling patterns and the need for different types of rollers (breakdown, pneumatic, finish rollers)
Position Requirements:
Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test
Preferred state DOT Certifications
Microsoft Office Skills
Basic level of reasoning abilities (i.e. Meeting deadlines, Prioritize Company and customer needs, serving as a leader to both peers and direct reports)
Strong mathematical skills (i.e. Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide)
