M&T Bank Business Banking & Consumer Support Specialist I in Getzville, New York

Sometimes people experience hardships in their lives and are unable to continue making payments on their auto, RV or boat loan. While there are many options available to assist, our last resort is to minimize loss by recovering collateral. Our Titles and Insurance Team works with DMVs, third parties, insurance companies, auto auctions and various vendors across the country to procure the title in M&T’s name and complete insurance reviews & claims for collateral.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process physical and electronic titles including data entry

  • Verify accuracy of documents for insurance and titles.

  • Prepare state required paperwork to procure title in M&T’s name.

  • Utilize various bank and third-party systems to research account status

  • Partner with state DMVs and various insurance companies to resolve title errors and/or insurance claim situations.

  • Research and investigate insurance issues, mismatched title documents and external vendor concerns.

  • Work to resolve moderate to complex customer situations regarding titles and insurance issues.

  • Partner with various internal teams such as legal, probate, support services and bankruptcy

  • Document systems of record

  • Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.

  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

  • Contact outside vendors (e.g., insurance companies) to gather and/or provide information on accounts through internal systems or phone.

  • Prepare, send, and track insurance claims.

  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

This position requires contact with internal and external business partners via email and phone.

Education and Experience Required:

A combined 2 years’ higher education and/or work experience, with a minimum of 1 year relevant work experience.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Detail oriented.

Proficient PC skills including word processing, spreadsheet and email software.

Education and Experience Preferred :

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Knowledge of M&T Bank systems

  • Highly organized

  • Insurance Claims and/or Titles background

  • Customer Service background

  • Attentional to detail

  • Problem solving

  • Critical thinking

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.11 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
