Job Summary
Provides medical services and health education to patients under the offsite supervision of the physician sponsor with regards to the age specific populations including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
Effectively contributes to the health education of individuals and groups and applies appropriate methods designed to increase each person’s motivation to assume responsibility for their own health care.
Meets regularly with the physician sponsor for consultation, supervision and collaboration.
Assesses, diagnoses and treats patients in the hospital according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice.
Education and/or Experience
- Graduate from an accredited physician assistant program.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Current SD license to match degree.
Federal and State DEA certification required.
ACLS, CPR preferred.
Work Schedule
Day/Evening Shifts; 64 hours every 2 weeks
One 24-hour call shift & one 8-hour daytime call shift
Occasional weekend (1 in 4)
Occasional holiday (1 in 4)
Occasional call time (Could be flexible but thinking one 24-hour shift per week & one 8-hour daytime call shift per week, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm)
