As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes and systems to produce Bradley products. You will focus on one of two main areas: Advanced Manufacturing or Process Engineering, but may be asked to support both areas depending on our needs. You may also lead projects and oversee manufacturing support workers.

You Will:

  • Lead, research, and evaluate advanced manufacturing technologies to improve production efficiency and quality, while troubleshooting production issues.

  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes for new product development, including equipment specification, process optimization, and production planning.

  • Support continuous improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.

  • Oversee the transition of new processes to serial production, including product qualification, process validation, and ramp-up planning.

  • Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.

  • Lead the planning and execution of capital equipment purchases, including vendor selection, specification development, budgeting, and project management.

  • Improve plant layout to improve material flow, reduce waste, and increase productivity.

  • Collaborate with teams to ensure understanding of manufacturing processes with team goals and customer needs.

  • Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards, including safety and environmental guidelines.

  • Implement visual management tools on the shop floor to enhance communication.

  • Be the problem-solving expert, utilizing tools like root cause analysis, fishbone diagrams, and statistical process control.

  • Create and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.

  • Establish labor standards, maintain product costing, and design efficient manufacturing processes.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans for manufacturing.

  • Mentor entry-level engineers, providing training and support to shop floor team members to ensure process consistency.

You Have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.

  • 3+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience.

  • Proficiency with office software (spreadsheets, documents, presentations) and CAD software.

  • Experience in process analysis.

  • Experience with Six Sigma problem-solving and Lean principles.

  • Experience with capital equipment implementation and large project management.

  • Advanced experience with new product development workflows and stage gates.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
