Tidelands Health Lead Outpatient Nurse (RN) - GPS General Surgery Clinic in Georgetown, South Carolina

Position Summary: Provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes. Ensures the achievement of optimal evidence-based patient care and department goals through efficient daily operations and compliance with established rules, regulations, and guidelines.

  • Assists with providing leadership presence and staff support.

  • Work with leadership on the development of new specialties and/or the ongoing improvement of clinical workflows and developing plans to grow and improve clinical operations

  • Coordinates, assigns, and oversees the work activities of other clinical staff (RN/LPN/MA) 

  • Helps maintain department scheduling guidelines of clinical staff

  • Leads nursing practice oversight (RN/LPN/MA)

  • Trains and mentor’s new clinical staff

  • Responsible for specialty inventory and supply ordering

  • Coordinates visits with outside Reps

  • Ready Vac management

  • Leads clinical team meetings and huddles

  • Assist with creating and modifying provider templates as needed

  • Review safety topics, infection prevention, and compliance with the team

  • Assist in the patient dismissal process

  • Address patient complaints

  • Initiate and guide process improvement plans related to clinical workflows

  • Payroll for clinical staff?

  • Assist Practice manager with preparing and delivering annual performance reviews

  • Other duties as assigned. Education :

  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN), required.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), preferred. Experience :

  • 2 years surgical, acute care, and/or critical care experience, required.

  • Cardiac monitoring experience, preferred. License/Certification

  • Current and in good standing RN Licensure with South Carolina Board of Nursing.

  • American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the TH Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational Development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.

  • ACLS, preferred.

Skills :

  • Ability to works with patients, families, physicians and other health care providers with a high level of customer service orientation, required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
