POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the leadership of the Central Sterile Processing Supervisor, demonstrates competency in identification, decontamination, processing and sterilization of surgical instruments including endoscopy scopes. Has a thorough understanding of processing and sterilization of surgical instruments and endoscopy scopes. Has a thorough understanding of processing equipment, including but not limited to, sterilizers,washer decontaminators, medivators and ultra sonic cleaners following a detailed orientation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Minimum :

High School education or equivalent.

Preferred :

Certification as Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) and/or Certification in Endoscope Reprocessing (CER)

LICENSE:

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

Minimum :

Central Sterile Technician certification (CRCST) requirement within 12 months of hire.

Certification in Endoscope Reprocessing (CER)within 24 months of hire.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Preferred :

Previous experience in sterile processing and/or previous experience processing endoscopy scopes.

SKILLS:

Minimum :

Conscientious regard for technical and minute procedures.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Computer literacy.

Salary Range: $19.26 -$21.81
