Position Summary

HIGHLIGHTS

Facilities Services is looking to fill a variety of 12-week summer positions. These positions are 40 hours/week (Monday – Friday, 7:00 am-3:30 pm) and supplement our workforce, enabling us to complete preventative maintenance work and small project work that is required to be completed during summer months.

Positions are available in our Zones, Core, Heating Plant, and Custodial areas.

If assigned to our Zone area, responsibilities may include:

  • semi-skilled carpentry activities

  • masonry repairs

  • general plumbing repairs

  • touch up painting

  • general maintenance

If assigned to our Core area, responsibilities may include:

  • painting

  • assisting with construction projects (demo, general construction)

  • assisting with masonry work & brick re-pointing

  • assisting in lock shop

If assigned to our Heating Plant area, responsibilities may include:

  • machine lubrication

  • parts cleaning

  • painting equipment

  • general maintenance duties

  • cleaning heating & utility areas

If assigned to our Custodial area, responsibilities may include:

  • window washing

  • cleaning of Res. Halls & academic buildings

    Required Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions. When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.

Applicants must be at least 17 years old. If under 18, must have appropriate working papers.
