Examples of Duties

The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.

  • Execute performance audits, financial reviews, agreed upon procedures, and internal investigations as set forth in the annualAudit plan and in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards.
  • Plan, manage, and conduct engagements, from planning to reporting, with minimal day to day supervision.
  • Provide objective, independent observations as they relate to the audit objectives.
  • Draft written reports, including graphics and other exhibits, which clearly and concisely present complex audit analysis andresults.
  • Oversee case management of the Countywide Employee Hotline.
  • Conduct the annual risk assessment process and annual audit planning.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual audit plan.
  • Maintain annual training hours as required by auditing standards.
  • Attend Countywide meetings, as necessary, to stay informed on current operations and issues within the County.
Minimum Qualifications

Graduation with a Bachelor's Degree with three (3) to five (5) years of experience in internal/external audit, accounting, risk management, and/or process improvement is required. A Master's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Public Administration is preferred.

Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or the ability to obtain within two years of hire is required.

Additional Information

Minimally qualified applicants will start at 25% of the salary range: $41.85/hr.

The applicant selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
