Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager

STARTING Salary: $74,100 a year

SIGN-ON BONUS: up to $7,500

SHIFT: Full-Time Monday through Friday 7a-3p Days, On-Call Rotation

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) oversees our subacute and long-term care units, assesses residents, and supports/directs staff as needed. Unit managers are responsible for managing the nursing unit. They primarily supervise the daily care of patients and ensure quality patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintaining and restoring the health of resident patients

  • Acting as the main point of contact between residents and their families

  • Addressing and preventing concerns from family members

  • Assists in developing, implementing, and making adjustments to patient care plans as needed

  • Supervises, counsels and provides discipline when necessary, to nurse staff to ensure the highest quality care possible

  • Ensures their unit meets federal and state regulatory standards, as well as company policies and procedures

  • Collaborates with the Director of Nursing, Nurse Practitioners and Physicians to plan and maintain resident care

  • Completes admission and discharge assessments

  • Oversees and audits changes made to care plans

  • Delivers hands-on care and medicine distribution as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure

  • Experience in long-term care facility preferred

  • Able to interpret patient information and make critical decisions about necessary actions

  • Ability to supervise and work well with and show respect toward other health care personnel (i.e., CNAs, LPNs, physicians, etc.), residents and their family members

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness and kindness

  • Physical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
