Robert Half Medical Coder in Gardena, California

Description We are in search of a Medical Coder to join our team based in Gardena, California. In this role, you will be responsible for handling complex coding tasks related to HCC Risk Adjustment and ensuring the accuracy of customer records. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity in the healthcare industry and requires specialized skills in various coding and auditing software.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer applications related to medical coding and billing functions.

• Use 3M and 3m Coding software to maintain accurate customer credit records.

• Resolve customer inquiries related to medical coding and billing.

• Use Allscripts and Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) to monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action.

• Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of clinical trial operations.

• Conduct audits to ensure the quality and accuracy of medical coding.

• Use Cerner Technologies for processing and maintaining customer applications.

• Handle claim administration tasks as per the industry standards.

• Prepare charts and graphs for presenting statistical data related to medical coding.

• Collaborate with the team to handle special needs patients with complex issues effectively. Requirements • Proficiency in 3M and 3M Coding software

• Experience with Allscripts software for medical records

• Familiarity with Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA)

• Knowledge of Cerner Technologies for health care IT solutions

• Ability to perform Auditing tasks related to medical coding

• Understanding of Billing Functions in the medical field

• Proficiency in creating and interpreting Charts and Graphs

• Experience with Claim Administration in a medical setting

• Familiarity with Clinical Trial Operations and protocols

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding

• Excellent communication skills to liaise between health professionals and insurance companies

• Commitment to stay updated with changes in medical coding practices and healthcare regulations

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

• Bachelor’s degree in health information, medical billing or a related field is preferred

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification from an accredited body is preferred.
