Job Title Production Supervisor

SUMMARY

Supervise the gas-fired generation station(s). Work in partnership with upper

management to make decisions and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations of

the generation facility.

Essential Responsibilities

Plant Operations

Supervise and coordinate plant load with system operations and process customers.

Establish and maintain communication with Manager, Generation Operations, Manager,

Maintenance, technical, and other staff in all departments, as needed, to ensure proper

work continuity is planned, scheduled, and completed in an efficient manner.

Monitor and ensure station operational and mechanical condition is maintained at a high

level of reliability.

Grow and improve process of generation by the most economical means.

Develop, review, and update generation units operational instructions and maintenance

requirements as needed.

Technical

Oversee the maintenance of the gas-fired or reciprocating generation units, black start

diesel generator, and auxiliary equipment as applicable. Communicate plant

deficiencies to the Maintenance Supervisor for the development of the weekly

maintenance work schedule and provide input as to the critical nature of the work to

allow scheduling in a timely manner.

Ensure environmental compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Project Management

Provide technical support and direction, as required, for major projects associated with

operation, maintenance, and environmental processes.

Implement generation objectives and develop short-term and long-term plans and

programs, including associated budget requests.

Administration

Develop and maintain accurate operational logs, reports, records, and documents as

necessary. Verify time sheets, expense reports, work order records, and other

documentation developed by crafts, technicians, laborers, and others as required.

Direct others in the proper data and record keeping functions of the generation units

operational and maintenance activity and history.

Administer budgetary work, purchasing and manufacturer warrantees, guarantees,

specifications, etc.

Track process costs and billing.

Assist with administering the Collective Bargaining agreement,.

Supervision and Leadership

Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports regarding job performance. Conduct

annual performanceappraisals in a timely manner.Participate in hiring and termination

decisions. Ensure direct reports receive training and support in order to meet orimprove

their job performance.Keep employees informed of work requirements, business

conditions, company policies, and other factors that impact their work performance and

environment.

Other Responsibilities

Complete safety and observation audits.

Provide outage maintenance coordination oversight as needed and directed.

Coordinate response effort in an emergency (such as a fire or an employee injury).

Participate, as needed, in budget porjections and requirements for area of responsibility

using proper judgment concerning financial status and situations.
