Norton Sound Health Corporation Advanced Practice Provider (APP)-Gambell in Gambell, Alaska
Purpose of Position:
Provide acute, chronic, emergency and preventive care to outlying village residents in accordance with NSHCs mission, philosophy, policies and procedures while under the direct supervision of medical doctors in Nome.
Uphold the organizations vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organizations policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules.
Essential Functions:
- Assess, plan and provide patient care under the supervision of a physician

``` - Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examinations

``` - Ensure proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery

``` - Use the appropriate process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation when assessing the patients condition and needs, setting outcomes, implementing appropriate actions to meet the patients/familys physical, emotional, spiritual, social, intellectual and safety needs, and evaluating patient progress

``` - Ensure patient care is accomplished effectively and efficiently in a cost-effective manner, discharge planning is carried out, and the medical regime for each patient is implemented as prescribed by the physician

``` - Participate in facilitating patient and family learning by explaining the patients' disease process and planned interventions to the patient/family

``` - Demonstrate ability to care for medical, critically ill, traumatically injured, mental health, emergency, maternal/neonate, and pediatric patient populations according to policy and procedure when medically necessary - Perform other duties as assigned
