Schedule

  • This will be your standing schedule. We are looking for a RT that can work the following schedule below consistently.

  • 8 hours depending on caseload

  • Saturday and Sunday

Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

  • Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.

  • Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment

  • Complete a variety of bedside treatments

  • Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter

  • Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation

  • Attend applicable IDT meetings

  • Experience with tracheotomy

  • Experience is a long term care setting

  • Follow procedure and protocol of facility

  • Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management

  • Performs related duties as required

  • Described in the Departmental Policy and procedure Manual in these areas of skilled interventions:

  • Oxygen weaning therapy

  • Omniflow – Biofeed back

  • Group respiratory therapy

  • Standardized respiratory testing

  • Aerosol therapy

  • IPPB therapy

  • Incentive Spirometry

  • Chest physiotherapy

  • Deep breathing and coughing

  • Bronchial hygiene therapy

  • PEP therapy

  • Postal Drainage

  • Positioning

  • Oro/Naso-pharyngeal suctioning

  • Airway clearance/management techniques

  • Trachea-bronchial suctioning

  • Tracheostomy care

  • Spirometry Bedside Testing

  • CPAP/BIPAP

  • High-Flow Oxygen

  • Cardiac Program

  • Pulmonary Program

  • Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.

  • Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.
