Profile:
The Principal Product Owner will set and champion the product vision, work with key senior leaders to influence strategic business objectives, develop and maintain the product roadmap, and define key operational processes like the product release schedule. The individual in this role will work closely with business partners and customers to define epics that align with key business objectives for the Scrum or Kanban team. The Principal Product Owner needs to be able to communicate strategy and status at the C level.
The Principal Product Owner works directly with multiple teams of analysts, engineers and other product team members to execute the product roadmap, guide the product development lifecycle, define user stories, and provide voice of the customer within product processes. This individual will track and manage product funding and defines work priorities for individuals dedicated to the product team. They will balance new features against continuous improvement, system health, and support.
Responsibilities:
Define and champion the product vision, roadmap, and epics, demonstrating the tie to business strategy to meet customer and business needs
Own the product backlog, managing and prioritizing user stories, decomposing epics into features, and continuous improvement work
Plan, manage, and track product funding. Is fully responsible for product budget and profit plan
Develop and maintain product-specific persona and customer journeys
Work closely with business stakeholders and customers, understanding their priorities and defining business outcomes and KPIs for the product in collaboration with those key stakeholders
Communicate goals for product increments and releases. Define goals for team sprints.
Accountable for product support, stability, and governance: including data, policy, cybersecurity, and usage
Act as a functional expert in areas related to the product, including across Eaton's portfolio
Drive definition and continuous improvement of product processes (e.g., Lean, Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps, etc.)
Understand commercial, business and go-to-market strategies where applicable
Manage contracts with software and service vendors to support the product strategy. Manage vendor strategy and relationship
Qualifications and Experience:
10+ years’ experience as an analyst BRM, project manager/engineer or program lead for complex technology projects or programs
5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or equivalent position.
Strong understanding and deep experience with product management and modern product delivery processes
Practical knowledge of and experience working with Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban software delivery teams
Understanding of DevSecOps principles and modern software development principles including code management, test automation, APIs, microservices, and cloud services.
Expertise in Engineering Processes, Requirements Management (DOORS, JAMA), DFMEA, MBD and MBSE
In depth knowledge and know-how of Product Design Development processes and Simulation Fundamentals
Ability to make bata-based decisions - Passion for great customer experiences
Financial and budget management experience
Proven ability to work across organizational boundaries, with diverse, global cultures
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, Master’s Degree preferred

The expected annual salary range for this role is $141,000.03 - $206800.04 a year.This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
