Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Performs work identified in the inspector classifications, completes required documentation associated with articles inspected. 100%

  2. Must be familiar with blueprints, applicable specifications. 100%

  3. Must be able, with guidance, to perform inspection operations of completed articles in fabrication and assembly areas. 100%

  4. Must be able to use standard inspection tools, detailed layout templates, patterns, and tooling related to the job 100%

  5. Must be able to use the MAPICS system, Quality Management System, and access drawings, specifications, and other data required to support the inspection process. 90%

  6. Must be able to perform other duties as required

Employee is expected to follow all safety regulations, keep work area in a clean and orderly condition, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for the assigned work area(s). Performs safety related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

 High School diploma or equivalent required.

 Six to twelve months of related experience required – equivalent education and

background may be substituted for experience in some areas.

 Requires a thorough understanding of shop practices and procedures.

 Must be able to read and interpret average to complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, route sheets, work orders, safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

 Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole

numbers, fractions, and decimals and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

 Employee must be able to obtain and maintain all required certifications and licenses.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION

Types of equipment will depend on area of assignment but may include linear scales, calipers, micrometers, protractor, radius gages, square. Dimensions to be inspected will be in tenths, hundredths, & thousandths (.1, .01, .001).
