Job Title:Environmental, Health and Safety Manager

Position Summary: The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will support and maintain Kubotas environmental regulatory compliance while defining and leading projects and activities to achieve Kubota's future environmental goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Achieving Kubota's Future Environmental Goals:

  • Analyze current environmental metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee and lead environmental improvement projects or campaigns.
  • Report progress on environmental improvement projects, detailing projected and accomplished results.
  • Prepare presentation materials from contributors and lead the Environmental Management Review.
  • Develop agenda topics for the KNA NASE group meetings, ensuring environmental topics are addressed.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all Environmental group members receive proper training to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., DOT, HAZWOPER).
  • Maintain necessary procedures and records to comply with regulations.
  • Seek external consulting support as needed to address environmental issues.
  • Establish and maintain an Environmental Spill Response process, overseeing investigations of environmental incidents.
  • Consult with manufacturing groups regarding wastewater-related issues.
  • Review and proofread all regulatory reports (e.g., Tier 2, TRI Form R).
  • Keep the environmental calendar updated and ensure timely completion of activities.

ISO 14001:

  • Participate in audits conducted by third-party companies (e.g., SGS, GT, AECOM).
  • Lead pre-audits and proactively address potential issues.
  • Support Kubota personnel during audits.
  • Ensure audit findings result in viable corrective actions completed on schedule.

KBT Related:

  • Review environmental data (e.g., energy usage, waste generation, water discharge, VOC/HAP).
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets for organizing environmental data for KEDES.
  • Oversee the collection of required data and surveys.
  • Ensure timely completion of KBT's environmental data online (KEDES) each month.
  • Conduct KBT-requested campaigns (e.g., Environmental Month activities, Eco-Challenge).

Other Duties:

  • Identify areas for operational efficiency improvement within the Environmental group and oversee project execution.
  • Review and approve POR/PR through InteliChief.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for subordinate team members.
  • Manage ETOs for subordinate team members to ensure proper group coverage.
  • Ensure Environmental eDojo training is executed as planned.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Competency in the English language with legible writing ability.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience with ISO 14001.

Working Conditions:

  • The role may require working in extreme temperatures, standing for long periods, and performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs.
